Sweden is filled to the brim with culture and art. Not just in their food, but their ancient architecture for their palaces, museums, and gathering areas. Grab your favorite jackets as we embark on a stroll through Stockholm and scout some of its grandest hidden treasures.

"It should be no surprise that some of our first stops will be cafes! I have a true belief that northern climate countries do have an undervalued talent of combing the perfect coffee with pastry."

CAFÉ SCHWEIZER

Café Schweizer might seem just like any other café in Stockholm, but trust me, it is not. This stop wins with its unique vibes, in its eloquence and their glamorous version of "café". From their Lasagna option, to classic Swedish Cheese cake, Schweizer definitely holds a satisfaction, for every tooth both sweet and savory.

Surrounded by Historical landmarks like Axel Oxenstiernas Palace or the infamous Storkyrkran, it holds no limits to sight seeing. Stop by a grab a quick 'Schweirzers Superkaffe' to get you through the afternoon, or sit for a while and dine on "Laxpudding"!

Having been established in the 1920's, celebrities and royalties from all over Stockholm have visited this café! So who knows, you might just bump into a famous face! But fear not, their reputation wont have too much of an impact on your wallet.

Cafe Järntorget

If happening upon the area of Gamla Stan, a historical landmark of downtown Stockholm, be sure to pass down Sweden's 'Narrowest Street', and make your way to Cafe Järntorget. Whether the family is down for a little day time ice cream, or if your partner simply wants a unique coffee flavor, this is a must stop.

While on a busy summers day you might encounter a little bit of a wait, the ice cream at the end of this rainbow is worth every minute. Attracting not just tourists, but locals of all backgrounds, this sweet spot has it all. Choose from over 50 different flavors, many being rare and local to the country, so many American tourists have never heard of! Add a little ice cream to your coffee or maybe get a swirled milkshake. There are many different styles, flavors, and palettes to try here.

Budget and family friendly help entice the average tourist. The staff also speak English and are very patient when it comes to dialect and communication. Making the whole experience more so warming and charming. Jarntorget truly brings a sense of modern europe with classical architecture and streetways. You will feel both as if you are back in time, with futuristic devices everywhere. An absolute must see!

Cozy Cafe

Possibly my favorite stop in Stockholm, this cafe truly lives up the 'cozy'. Homely and Intimate both inside and out, Cozy Cafe does not spare any expense when it comes to food and drinks. Just a straight walk from Ryning's Palace, it is a good idea to satisfy any hunger needs before more sight seeing takes place.

Partake in a mouthwatering cinnamon bun and a perfectly executed cappuccino. The panini sandwiches are to die for, mixing and balancing many different flavors of cheese and veggies. The dessert plates on their own, could make even a savory tooth turn to the dark side. There is no end to the options.

Not only can you enjoy a palatable meal at the Cozy Cafe, but it can act as a wonderous back drop for food photography, portraits, and even simple aesthetic shots. So pull out your camera, grab your budget money, and dig in here. Whether you are inside or outside, the whole crew will enjoy the serenity and vibes of the coziest cafe in Stockholm!

Trattorian

Brunch...or an early dinner? Food questions ware on every tourist when traveling abroad. Luckily, Trattorian is good for both! Honestly, some of the best Italian food in all of Northern Europe. Located in the territory of Kungsholmen, both attractions and appetite can be gratified. Views of both the Stockholm City Hall, a wonder to the area in both architecture and size, accompanied by gorgeous views encompassing the body of water, Riddarfjärden.

While not as option friendly food wise, Trattorian holds proud of their event lists and private booking options. Budget friendly, but no spared luxury. Try the Peach Bellini, I promise you will never have another like it. The freshest pasta in the north, and true Italian music to complement your experience.

Dedicated to their work with Pizza, it is recommended to indulge in one, or maybe 5 pizzas. You know, because you've absolutely walked all over Stockholm and need it! Right? Experiment with the 'Cotto' or 'Crudo' pizzas, balancing paired cheeses to the indulgent mix of sauces and toppings. You might even forget you are in Sweden all together after finishing your meal here.

Cordial staff, beautiful decor, and a true homecoming Italian feel, this restaurant is a 10/10 recommendation. Finish your visit in Stockholm with a visit here, or start here and build the cultural mixology as you go...either way, Trattorian is a win-win!
